Technologies in Practice: We Go to the Edge
“Alien Energy: Social studies of an emerging industry” is a research project funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research – Social Sciences, and based at the ITU University of Copenhagen. Drawing on ethnographic methods as well as Science and Technology Studies, the project aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the impact and effects of renewable energy initiatives at several sites within Europe (Denmark, Iceland and the Orkney Islands, Scotland). A central concern is the question of how development of green energy creates and reconfigures relations between humans, technologies and nature at particular project sites. By way of establishing collaboration and partnerships between various informants and experts the project is methodologically innovative and a partial aim in the course of the project is the creation of a mobile exhibition.” Read more here: http://alienenergy.
